kanye west

It has always been evident to me that Kanye West is constantly striving to widen the gap between himself, and pretty much every other hip hop artist in the business right now. If you had the opportunity to experience the Glow in the Dark tour, you already know what I’m talking about. If not, don’t worry; there’s still plenty of Kanye goodness to go around!

Politics just got real.  I’m still not 100% sure on how I feel about this.  I think I will leave this one up to the readers.  Questions? Comments? Concerns?

Kylie Minogue feat Spank Rock – HEART BEAT ROCK

This is one of those times where the remix just kills the original track. I am a diehard Spank Rock fan and probably always will be. I’m not crazy about Kylie, but she’s been around for a long time, so it’s hard not to like her. Don’t act like you didn’t dance to “Locomotion” back in the day! Either way, the Benny Blanco remix of “Heart Beat Rock” is amazing.

Yelle – Highline Ballroom NY

yelle show

This past weekend I had the opportunity to escape Boston, hang out in Connecticut, and party in NYC at the Highline Ballroom where French electro-pop superstar, Yelle, performed. She put on a high energy show that kept the crowd dancing all night long. Then I proceeded to sleep for a couple hours in Grand Central Station next to a bum while I waited for the 5:35 am train back to CT. Very anticlimactic, but it was worth it. Yelle was super cute and nice enough to take a photo with us after the show. I doubt she will be performing in the states for a while, but if you’re abroad and get a chance to check her out, you won’t be disappointed.

DJ Lady Byrd

dj lady byrd

Just about every other time I go to some indie electro dance party, I find myself wondering (sometimes ranting), why there aren’t more successful female DJs in the game right now.  Like it or not, we are at the apex of “disco” making a newly renovated comeback and personally I’m all for it. I just figured that, by now, a few talented females would have made their way out of the woodwork.  Then with a stroke of nothing but pure luck (thank you internet) I found myself at the myspace page of DJ Lady Byrd.

New Delhi

Last week I escaped the harsh New England weather of Boston and gladly traded it in for sunny California. While I was visiting Gitamba in the Bay Area, I had the opportunity to see the sights and meet new people. But, being the self-proclaimed foodie that I am, it was only natural that some of the most memorable parts of my trip revolved around food.
