New Delhi Restaurant San Francisco

New Delhi

Last week I escaped the harsh New England weather of Boston and gladly traded it in for sunny California. While I was visiting Gitamba in the Bay Area, I had the opportunity to see the sights and meet new people. But, being the self-proclaimed foodie that I am, it was only natural that some of the most memorable parts of my trip revolved around food.

One of the best restaurants I visited during my trip was New Delhi, an Indian restaurant located in downtown San Francisco. As I walked through the door I was pleasantly surprised with the interior of the restaurant which was much larger than I expected due to the inconspicuous exterior. Despite the high ceilings and walkway lined with pillars, the restaurant had a very warm and intimate vibe. The authentic cuisine and seamless service were nothing short of impeccable. If you get a chance to visit New Delhi, I highly suggest the Tandoori chicken because its cooked in an authentic tandoor (a clay oven traditional to Indian cuisine) as opposed to a grill. In addition to the extensive menu and friendly wait staff, the restaurant also features a full bar with a lounge area and a wide variety of reasonably priced drinks. New Delhi is a restaurant that pays close attention to detail and for that fact alone I would recommend it to anyone who wants to experience fine dining.
