N.A.S.A. shoots the moon with Spirit of Apollo

Spirit of Apollo, the new album from N.A.S.A. boasts collaborations with the likes of George Clinton, Kanye, M.I.A., Santogold, and Lykke Li, to name a few–and if you’re like me, you’ve been streaming all 17 tracks from the duo’s myspace page all weekend. N.A.S.A., which stands for North America South America, also collaborates on the album with indie artists like Spank Rock and The Cool Kids. There’s even some unexpected, and surprisingly smooth pairings with artists like Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Fatlip and Ol’ Dirty (Bastard).

On the Verge – Wale at The Webster

This night, This crowd, and This venue is what counts in the entertainment industry, or so they say. At Hartford’s Webster Theater,  however,  This was not Wale’s night. The February 5th show had me begging for a different night and definitely for a different crowd. The performance is best summed up by Wale sitting down at one point near the end of the show, looking dejected and asking the crowd if anyone smoked weed. Flat.

A Veritable Smorgasbord- Adiam Dymott

The nation of Sweden is not made up exclusively of blond haired, blue eyed guys and gals named Sven and Elkie. Perfect example is rocker Adiam Dymott. Named after an African queen, she was born in 1982 to Eritrean parents who fled their war torn nation,  and raised their daughter in the city of Uppsala.
