I gesture, you gesture and then HP just bold face lies to you. Unlike the obvious “Minority Report” inspired ad, the HP TouchSmart PC does not do the multi-touch gestures that we’ve all come to love on devices like the iPhone. At a glance, the new all-in-one machine from HP borrows heavily from Apple’s iMac line of machines. At almost 1300 dollars, this media-centered PC comes with a 2.16 Intel core 2 duo chip, 500GB HD and an optional TV tuner. Running on the loathed Vista Platform, you can currently place pre-orders for the machine online for an expected ship date sometime this July.

shag frenzy

One of the only places to go get your dance on if your brand of dance music includes artist like Daft Punk, Simian Mobile disco, or The Black Kids is Hartford’s first indie dance night Shag Frenzy. Organized by DJ’s, Strangler, Garage Flower, and Photographer Low Brow; the monthly event has always brought out righteous jams and pretty cool crowd. I had the pleasure of spinning with the Shag Frenzy crew and maybe you’ll see me spinning around more often.

your hartford

Trying to  do something radically different with the status quo in Hartford is no easy task. I mentioned in a post earlier this month how downtown Hartford is often, hands down, the lamest place for a young person to try and enjoy the nightlife. The reasons for this stem from the type of people you encounter; they can range from inept drunk college kids to the ultra snobby townies.

The end result of good design is supposed to bring about exceptional aesthetic and it should be based on conveying an idea and solving problems. BMW is perusing just that with their concept car “GINA”. Designed by Chris Bangle, GINA approaches car design in a completely new way. Thinking of the vehicles exterior as an organic skin with limitless potential shapes and functions. BMW has aspirations of  making this a reality in 10 years, and will give drivers the ability to shape the “look” of their car.
