When it comes to sunglasses, I am extremely picky. So much so, that I would rather be sunglass-less throughout the entire summer than wear a pair that I am pretending to like. For the first time, I can say that I have found some sick shades that I will be more than happy to rock all summer long. Continue Reading…

Well played Mr. Jobs and relative Cupertino wizards. You’ve done it again by turning the world on it’s head and setting the pace for what is to come. Today marked one of the tech world’s most highly watched events WWDC, which is held in San Francisco’s Mascone Center. Apple announced a pretty big plate of goodies unto the world. A brand new faster, thinner, and more affordable iPhone. As well as a replacement/upgrade to their .Mac service now called “MobileMe“. MobileMe will help you sync and store your digital life on all your Apple and PC products. Apple really challenged itself on improving the iPhone, and really addressing all the things it’s competitors were doing in an attempt to usurp the now almost mythical status as the “It” tech device.

Sometimes the big apple beckons, and some of the staffers at The Retrospective answer the call. Thursday, found Jason, Alicia and I all in NYC taking in the temperate weather and of course all the sights and sounds. We all met up late Thursday evening at Blue Ginger for some delicious sushi. The restaurant has some great traditional looking Japanese Edo period paintings on the wall, especially in the bathroom. Unfortunately for us, we got served by the one waiter from hell; and there’s not enough blog space to go into that ordeal. After the grub we headed to the lower west side to meet up with photographer, blogger, and documentarian Kareem Black.

Shout out to George for putting this artist in my sights. Thao Nguyen is a singer songwriter from the east coast who recently transplanted herself across the country to San Francisco where she’s been touring with likes of Xiu Xiu and working with producer Tucker Martine (Sufjan Stevens, The Decemberists) on her new record. The name of the song is “Bag of Hammers”.
