While I was in San Diego, Pat(My American Heart) took me out to San Marcos to check out The Fizix. Owned and operated by three friends Conrad “Rick” Alberto, Mike “Slim” McDonnough, and Nelson Duong the Fizix has been around since 2005 online, and opened it’s first brick and mortar store June of 2007.

As Cities Burn

Come Now Sleep

Solid State/Tooth and Nail 2007

It was a long road toward As Cities Burn’s sophomore release, “Come Now Sleep”. The band, who signed to Solid State and Imprint of Tooth and Nail in 2004, spent the following year on the road relentlessly touring with the likes of UnderOath, Emery, and Gym Class Heroes. At the end of their summer tour last year the band decided to head into the studio which then lead to major changes within the band’s structure. Visceral front man TJ Bonnette left the band for personal reasons and at that point it seemed as though As Cities Burn had to decided to call it quits. However, fast forward to a few months later, the band does a 180 and decides to persevere. The line up is altered with the addition of Chris Lott from The Planning Fallacy, new drummer Aaron Lunsford and Cody Bonnette assuming vocal duties.

Road Trip the web 2.0 way!

My friend from high school Niraj and his college roommate came up with a pretty slick idea. They both have decided for one, to move to the west coast (San Francisco to be exact), but more remarkably Niraj built Consensual Treks. The site allowed friends, family, and complete strangers to suggest cool destinations that the duo should venture to, on their way to the west coast. The two update pretty regularly with blogs as well as youtube videos. Everyone’s always wanted to do something like this, I know I have. I’m glad they did it in their own way though.

West coast livin’ and changes

So yeah, hello everyone! I’m writing this from the library on campus ugh…I haven’t received my new notebook. If you don’t already know, I am now residing on the west coast in San Francisco where I am finishing up my last few years of academia at The Academy of Art University. The school, the city, and the people are amazing and this was just the change that I needed. I spent a couple days in San Diego with Pat(My American Heart) where he hooked me up with ever so fresh Conrad(The Fizix). I picked up a chic purple cardigan from Orisue. In a couple of days probably I will have update reviews of both The Fizix and my next big stop HUF, along with a bunch tidbits from Warped Tour 07. Keep it mogul fam!

It’s FINALLY here! Two years in the making blood, sweat, and tears (web standards)! After much hype The Retrospective has arrived for all to experience and let me tell you, I want to bloody cry. Coupled with the pressure of a timely release, the apprehension of picking open old wounds in order to arrive at this point has paid off because we are now *gasp* open for browsing.

Tiny Pants x The Retrospective Interview

Tiny Pants Header
Chris Dang(Tiny Pants) and I crossed paths way back when you could probably still use the “blink” tag in code without getting a shovel to the back of the head. When I was searching for the first visual artist to feature for the launch he immediately came to mind. He’s not only responsible for the infamous logo for my now defunct band but a laundry list of great work in varying mediums. We’d lost communiqué for a while but I was pleased to hear that he’s been doing it mogul these days up in NYC.
