This past Saturday I had the chance to catch up with Mimi Cook, who just happens to be Apple’s Creative Director, over lunch. We went to the Americano Cafe near the pier in San Francisco. You couldn’t have asked for a better day- beautiful weather, warm breeze, salt air from the ocean and of course lunch with a very amazing woman. My talks with Mimi are always great because she’s such a wealth of information and inspiration. We discussed things I’m currently working on like the complete rehaul of The Retrospective going into effect in the near future. We also covered some new tidbits I’m keeping under the radar. I’m always impressed with her ability to discern the scope of someone’s talents as she has been directing me to other creatives that will be spotlighting here.
I wish I could disclose all the cool things we have in store for you in the next few months, but, instead, I’m just going to leave you with this video from Refused. This has to be one of the most well-known songs from this seminole short-lived band. It’s from their last record, “The Shape of Punk to Come”. It really sums up the mentality I have towards this website and the energy behind a lot of the new goodies we have instore.
