Wikipedia defines Nanotechonolgy as “…a field of applied science and technology whose unifying theme is the control of matter on the atomic and molecular scale, normally 1 to 100 nanometers, and the fabrication of devices with critical dimensions that lie within that size range.” Definition aside, Nokia announced the concept phone “Morph” this week. “Morph” would be built on nanotechnology which may be feasible within seven years.

Nokia’s “Morph” concept would supposedly be able to change shape, self clean and sense things around it among its many other features. After I saw this, baring the psychedelic music that sort of gets you in a trance, I was flabbergasted. This seems like the stuff of science fiction however, the Finnish telecommunications company feels that this is the phone of the future and the road cell phone technology will soon be traveling. This would definitely be an amazing device to have because of its intuitive interaction with not only the user but also the environment. What do you think? I’d love to get some feedback about this.

I think they took every issue we currently have with our cellphones and fixed it. It charges by sunlight, can fold into a million shapes, cleans itself and can change its look to match your outfit every day. Where do I sign up?

I guess this is less science fiction and more science fact. Why wouldn’t technology move in the direction of solving all our problems. I just don’t want robot overlords.
