Phil needs a vacation. We’re gonna make him take one because he’s shot almost every single band on Edition 6 of RetroPlay for content we’re putting together for our relaunch as a more useful destination for insight on art, fashion, culture, and technology. Enjoy!

While recovering from one of the most miserable mornings in recent memory, due entirely to hanging out with one Brian J. Brennan (who just barely made it out alive himself), I decided to flip through a nearby May 2012 issue of Wired. The small headline story was on Klout, which has been on my mind lately, but I was more interested in the big cover feature of Marc Andreessen.

Phil is our tireless in-house Director, reporter, and man-about-town whose home base is in the Bay. Our request for him to curate Edition 4 of RetroPlay was met with a threat that the list would be nothing but back to back Lady Gaga. Thankfully, Phil’s bark is worse thank his bite.
Sit back, press play, and enter the aural realm of the overworked and spectacularly talented Phil Nacionales.

The Retrospective is playing around with Spotify‘s collaborative playlists to create a curated treat for your ears. It will be updated and maintained by Caitlin, Phil, and myself. Enjoy!

Ah, summertime. The days are sunnier, warmer, and longer and thankfully so, since there’s so many fun and exciting things to do. We’re taking this time to relax, think about Retro, and hang out on the rooftop with a kiddie pool and a grill.
Oh, we’ll still be posting, just not as regularly. We’re going to use this free time time to the fullest. And like the kid who gets a summer project to take back to school in the fall, we’re going to be doing lots of thinking about how to bring you a re-vamped, re-energized, and re-envisioned Retrospective.
From all of us at The Retrospective, have a great summer.
