The nation of Sweden is not made up exclusively of blond haired, blue eyed guys and gals named Sven and Elkie. Perfect example is rocker Adiam Dymott. Named after an African queen, she was born in 1982 to Eritrean parents who fled their war torn nation, and raised their daughter in the city of Uppsala.

She was raised on 60’s soul from her parents, but she found her real love for music in Biggie Smalls, Wu-Tang, Nirvana, and Garbage. She relocated to Stockholm in her 20’s, where she found work as a receptionist at a recording studio and doing background vocals on the side. Adiam’s first single “Miss You”, is currently in the top 10 on the Swedish charts and climbing. Her sound has been described as soulful pop melodies meeting rock ‘n’ roll. Her album is expected to drop this spring in Europe and later this year in North America.
