Yesterday I found myself with a huge chunk of time (once again) and set out to visit The Brooklyn Circus. I’d been meaning to stop by since we posted about their sale and party last month and I was excited to check it out. Gabe was there and he was kind enough to bring me up to speed on what the brand had in store.
Operating on multiple coasts, the look of the BKc has always had its hand in high fashion. The brand exercises meticulous detail in every aspect of design; from graphics to the type of materials used for the apparel. I’ve always been a fan of their gear because it feels as though it could stand the test of time. In my opinion durability is a quality fashion should always strive for. I’d like to think that the brands I’m into will still be cool to wear when I’m, oh let’s say, fifty years old. The SF store is currently going through a transition period as they prepare to move into their new home. Right now, BKc is sharing a space with Harputs Market (a legendary San Francisco boutique that carries select brands and designer goods from vendors as far as Milan and Paris). If you’ve been stopping by their blog you must certainly know that they have been on a serious grind; they are set to release a revamp of their online store, move into new facilities and are currently featured in Toyota’s new The 5th Door campaign for the Matrix line of cars. Do these guys ever sleep?
Later that day, I headed next door to the Adidas store, which has called that location home for more than 30 years, and picked up the Adidas Handball Plug 5 shoe. It was originally created in 1984 for handball players and has interchangeable pegs for custom cushioning of the heal. Vanessa who works there picked ‘em out for me (she has a good eye).
